Senior Quantity Surveyor
Civil & Infrastructure Projects
A growing civil engineering company with strong expertise in commercial land development, earthworks, and infrastructure projects is looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial success of its upcoming projects.
Operating across Peninsular Malaysia, the company collaborates with developers, contractors, and public-sector clients. As project volume increases, they are seeking a seasoned professional with both strategic and on-the-ground cost management expertise — someone who can take full ownership of pre- and post-contract QS functions.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Contract & Tendering
Review tender documents, specifications, and drawings
Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities (BQ), and tender submissions
Support tender evaluations, clarifications, and pricing strategies
Post-Contract & Cost Control
Monitor project costs, valuations, and interim claims
Track project cash flow and cost control performance
Prepare final accounts and variation orders
Contract Administration
Manage contractual correspondence and EOT claims
Evaluate subcontractor quotations, claims, and payment certificates
Ensure compliance with local contract standards (e.g., PAM, JKR)
Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with consultants, clients, site teams, and contractors
Provide timely commercial updates and cost advice
Mentor junior QS team members (where applicable)
What They're Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent
Minimum 5 years of experience in quantity surveying in Malaysia
Strong understanding of Malaysian construction contracts (PAM, JKR, CIDB)
Familiarity with BQ tools and cost software such as Glodon, Cubicost, or CostX
Excellent negotiation and analytical skills
Proven ability to work independently in fast-paced project environments
Experience with infrastructure, mixed-use, or large-scale developments
Bonus: Familiarity with IBS, Value Engineering, or Green Building standards
