Supply Chain Manager

About the Role

 

The Supply Chain Manager will lead end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, planning, inventory, and warehouse management. This role is responsible for ensuring supply reliability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence while driving continuous improvement and supporting business growth objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Procurement & Strategic Sourcing

• Lead sourcing and procurement activities for direct and indirect materials.
• Develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and negotiate commercial terms.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities and ensure supply continuity through effective supplier management.
• Monitor market trends and support supplier development initiatives.

Planning, Inventory & Warehousing

• Lead demand planning, material forecasting, and inventory management processes.
• Ensure material availability to support production requirements and customer demand.
• Oversee warehouse operations, inventory accuracy, and stock control activities.
• Drive improvements in inventory optimisation, logistics efficiency, and service levels.

Operational Excellence & Leadership

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supply chain functions.
• Improve key supply chain metrics including OTIF performance, inventory turns, and working capital efficiency.
• Collaborate with Sales, Production, Technical, and Finance teams to support business objectives.
• Lead, develop, and mentor a high-performing supply chain team.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Logistics, or a related field; professional certifications such as Lean Six Sigma are an advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, planning, or logistics management within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain operations, including procurement, demand planning, inventory management, and warehousing.
• Proven experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, cost optimisation, and contract negotiations.
• Knowledge of Lean, JIT, Kanban, ERP systems, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong leadership, analytical, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to drive operational excellence.
