A world-leading semiconductor company specialising in analog and embedded processing chips that power electronics across automotive, industrial, personal electronics, communications, and enterprise markets. The company owns and operates its own manufacturing running a global network of assembly & test sites, with one of its largest, most advanced assembly and test operations based in Malaysia. Operational excellence, in-house manufacturing control, and long-term capacity investment are central to how it competes.
About the Role
A senior leadership mandate to run one of the company's flagship assembly and test operations, owning the full manufacturing organisation across a high-volume, high-mix semiconductor back-end. You'll be accountable for safety, quality, output, cost, and people across the site's production floor driving yield on complex assembly and test processes while building a manufacturing team that sets the standard for the wider network. This is both an operational and a leadership mandate: you'll steer large-scale production, lead through ramps and transfers, and develop the next layer of manufacturing leadership beneath you.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end manufacturing performance for a major semiconductor assembly & test site
- Drive safety, quality, delivery, cost, and productivity to a consistent, best-in-class bar across all production lines
- Lead capacity planning and output strategy to meet demand across a high-mix product portfolio
- Own readiness and execution for new product introductions, product transfers, and high-volume ramps
- Build KPI systems, scorecards, and business reviews that give real visibility into line and equipment performance
- Push continuous improvement into the operation, including OEE, UPH, cycle time, and yield gains
- Partner closely with Process, Equipment, Quality, and Supply Chain engineering to remove constraints and improve manufacturability
- Develop and coach a large manufacturing organisation, building bench strength and a strong operational culture
- Step into underperforming areas and lead structured, data-driven turnaround plans
Key Requirements
- 15 years or more in semiconductor manufacturing and operations leadership, with meaningful time in assembly & test (back-end)
- A track record running large, high-volume production organisations in a high-mix, high-reliability environment
- Evidence of leading operational excellence and Lean/CI transformations
- Experience carrying products through NPI, transfer, and scale-up
- Strong commercial instincts, comfortable connecting operational decisions to cost and margin
- Executive-level presence in a global, matrixed multinational
- Proven ability to build and develop large manufacturing teams
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations, or a related field; MBA a plus
