Our client is a global manufacturer of engineered electronic and electromechanical products, serving a portfolio of high-growth industrial and technology end markets. The business operates a distributed manufacturing and sourcing footprint spanning multiple hubs across all continents. The organisation is presently in a period of substantial growth, with demand strengthening across its end markets and capacity expanding in step. It now seeks a senior leader to take the global supply chain function forward through this next phase.
About the Role
The Vice President, Global Supply Chain will assume end-to-end accountability for the global supply chain function, encompassing planning, strategic sourcing, commodity management, logistics, and materials. The appointment comes at a moment of considerable momentum, and the successful candidate will lead the function as the enterprise scales deepening the leadership bench, extending governance and performance discipline across regions, and developing a supplier ecosystem resilient enough to absorb pronounced volatility in demand. The operating environment is high-mix and high-reliability, characterised by step-changes in volume that place a considerable premium on supply assurance and operational judgement. Accordingly, the organisation seeks a leader whose formation lies in manufacturing operations, an executive who has carried profit and loss accountability for plants and regions. The remit is global in scope and carries visibility at the most senior levels of the company. The role is based in Singapore, with sustained presence expected across the Asian manufacturing network and its strategic partners.
Key Responsibilties
- Establish and lead global supply chain strategy across planning, sourcing, commodity management, logistics, and materials, ensuring alignment with long-term corporate growth objectives.
- Develop the supply chain organisation, building a leadership bench of sufficient depth and calibre across multiple countries and manufacturing hubs.
- Develop a comprehensive global supplier ecosystem encompassing strategic suppliers, logistics partners, and supply continuity frameworks with full accountability for cost, quality, resilience, and continuity of supply.
- Ensure supply assurance through periods of pronounced demand volatility, including buffer inventory strategy, multi-sourcing protocols, and reserve capacity planning.
- Align and standardise sourcing and supply chain operations across the network, improving efficiency, cost competitiveness, and operational visibility.
- Own inventory, working capital, and lead-time performance as metrics of executive and board visibility.
- Institute sales and operations planning and demand planning discipline capable of withstanding rapid volume change.
- Embed Lean and continuous improvement methodology within supply chain and partner operations as a matter of culture rather than programme.
- Partner closely with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance on footprint strategy, capacity planning, and capital deployment priorities.
- Ensure supply chain readiness for new product introduction, product transfer, and volume ramp across the network.
- Lead structured intervention and recovery where supplier or regional performance falls below the required standard.
Professional Experience and Qualifications
- A minimum of twenty years of progressive leadership across manufacturing, operations, and supply chain within advanced manufacturing environments.
- Substantive experience carrying full profit and loss accountability for manufacturing operations at plant, regional, or chief operating officer level either preceding or in parallel with supply chain responsibility.
- Demonstrated ownership of a multi-country manufacturing footprint across Asia, with direct operating experience in markets particularly in asia and the Americas.
- A record of constructing supplier ecosystems and aligning sourcing across a distributed manufacturing network.
- Proven capability in operational turnaround and stabilisation, having assumed responsibility for underperforming operations and restored performance across quality, delivery, and financial measures.
- Experience of scaling through rapid growth, including plant expansion, relocation, or volume ramp delivered without disruption to customer commitments.
- Depth in Lean, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement, applied as sustained cultural change rather than as discrete initiatives.
- Experience leading enterprise systems implementation to strengthen operational visibility and control.
- A degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, or a related discipline is preferred. Candidates whose depth of operating experience is commensurate will be considered on that basis.
